Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Bengali, Department of Bengali Language and Literature, University of Calcutta, 87/1 College street, Asutosh Building (1st floor) Kolkata - 700 073. Candidates should apply in the prescribed format by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan obtainable from College Street Campus (Cash Counter). Application form will be available from the University website and filled up applications are to be submitted to the office of H.O.D., Bengali Department along with the self-attested copies of all testimonials and pay voucher.

The last date of submission of application : 25.08.2014.

The total number of seats : 22.

Date of written test : 09.09.2014 at 2:00 P.M.

Eligibility Criterion :

• At least 55% marks in M.A examination from any University (5% less for S.C. & S.T. candidates as per UGC rules).Only M.A. degree holders are to be supposed for written test.
• Those candidates who have already passed UGC / (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET / M.Phil. (Bengali only) need not appear at the written examination and can directly apply to appear at the interview.
